Out of Home Care (OOHC) Recommissioning – 2017
The New South Wales Department of Family and Community Services (NSW FACS) is a department within the New South Wales (NSW) State Government of the Commonwealth of Australia. The department is responsible for providing social services for socioeconomically disadvantaged individuals, families and communities throughout NSW State. Such social services range from supportive services for indigenous Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other non-indigenous Australians who face domestic violence, homelessness or disabilities.
In 2017, Kunal worked on the Out-of-Home Care (OOHC) Recommissioning Project in NSW FACS as Project Officer. The OOHC Project was responsible for providing oversight and support of the procurement project for negotiating new five-year New South Wales (NSW)-government funded OOHC contracts for foster care, indigenous Aboriginal foster care, residential care initiatives managed by NGOs in NSW State.
In addition, Kunal was involved in research and writing up a report on the global social impact bond space, specifically on social impact bond models aimed at addressing child-centric social services. The report is available upon request.
